I'm really looking forward to the weekend. By the look of it its going to be very quiet and relaxing. Hang on a minute there's something wrong here. That doesn't sound like my life.... In fact it isn't.
Much of this weekend will be taken up with work, in one form or another. We have a major crisis that has landed on my desk to sort. Our senior managers have promised the customer that this will be resolved by Monday but have only just told me. I pointed out that I do not have access to 98% of the required paperwork, only the basic info. Yet its still my job.
My customer also wants me to move a very large piece of machinery from South Africa to Alexandria to arrive by 31st December. The earliest ship docks on the 11th Jan. There is nothing else to move it on. I don't think that this is really the best use of any miraculous powers that God may give me.
Solve world hunger? End poverty? Bring about world peace? Sorry folks I have to move this 25 tonne rotor instead!
Sometimes I really wish that I didn't have this work ethic that makes me want to do things completely. Why aren't I one of those people who can let go at 5 o'clock?
