For those who can't guess, this afternoon I have been watching The Battle of Britain. Thankfully this combines my love of WW2, aircraft and drama.
Ok, the effects are not great by today's standards. It is a little overlong but it is still a good film. The soundtrack was specially written for it and shows what can be done with film and music. Swirling strings and woodwind, combining with the pictures of crashing bombers and swirling dogfights. Sheer class! And its a British film!
I don't think anyone did WW2 movies quite like the Brits, when we got it right.
Earlier we'd gone out for lunch at TGI Friday's with Sad Sister's family. A very enjoyable time was had by all; maybe due to the 5 whiskey sours I had but I don't really think so. It provided that wonderful buzz to get me through the afternoon.
