Today has been spent in meetings and trying to get people from a large foreign country to provide information due last month. I must remember that I need to ring my mum to wish her happy birthday. If you're reading this mum I will call ASAP.
After 3 years of working at my customer's site I finally received my photo-ID card today. They produced 2 altogether - 1 normal and 1 with a purple forehead and green cheeks. I prefer the purple one as I hate photos.
We are taking bets on when the electricity is likely to go. Working in rural England means that a thunder storm, or high winds, usually knocks out the local power grid. Last year we had 4 days without power after a thunder storm killed an electricity sub-station in the town. In an endeavour to prevent this happening the electricity supply company has begun to trim the trees away from the powerlines.
My boss also tried to throw a spanner in the works by trying to reschedule a meeting he'd set up for 07:30 tomorrow morning. He wanted it to be rearranged for Monday at the same time. Very convenient for me as I'd have had to leave at 05:00 to make it. Thankfully my customer also found this widly inconvenient and rearranged thinks back to the original plan.
