I Was Infested

Today was the general announcement of our impending departure from the chapel. The minister mentioned it after I'd served the communion, we'd a hymn and I was sat back down. Thankfully no one has tried to talk us out of leaving, they realise that it would be a forlorn hope. To paraphrase a much maligned heroine, "This person is not for turning."

Listening to the announcement also brought home the fact that I'd made the right decision. It really feels like its time to leave.

On the way home we called in ay Sad Sister's. She was ill so hadn't made it this morning, Shouty Boy was coming down with something and Sly Boy had had his first sleep over with cubs. Brummie Brother in Law was probably glad of this as Birmingham City were being shown on Sky this morning.

As we stood in the doorway handing over the collection Sly Boy told us that he hadn't enjoyed his sleep over. It was really boring as they'd only:

Played a game
Gone swimming
Watched a film - Ghostbusters
Gone to sleep
Had breakfast
and, He was infested

Yes, that's right. This morning he was INFESTED.

It turned out that he should have said INVESTED into the cubs.

I'm so glad that I'm no longer a scout leader. It was bad enough coping with kids who wouldn't sleep but infested kids? No, thanks.
