Thanks to mum for the pancake tip after my last post.
We have been counting down to our leaving chapel on April Fool's Day, a very apt day for us to leave I think you'll agree. We both agree that the thing we'll really miss is the Youth on alternate Sunday's. We have a good group of kids there who cause us very, very few problems. They asked today if the next meeting will be a party to mark our leaving. I feel the need for a Scooby cake, so why not.
Today was the last occasion for FW's Fairtrade stall. One of the ladies came up and said: "I hear that the T&E's are leaving a sinking ship!" Then there was a pause and: "I didn't mean that!" I hope she didn't. I know I haven't been happy for a while and that certain things are already being changed but whatever happens the chapel will survive.
It has got larger over the years. As people leave, or die, others always seem to appear to replace them. Not for a moment do I believe that I'm indispensible. Yes, I do do several jobs there but nothing that others couldn't handle in my place.
I do feel that it'll be good to go somewhere where I feel less obliged to do things. I'll know that when we find the new chapel God will be the one that tells me what to do. I believe that He's shown me that the time is right to move on. He has something in store and I'll wait to see what it is.
