Today has been spent trying to suppress swear words aimed at BT.

I have been trying to install a family friend's broadband conection. It took 2 hours before I found one of the main reasons for a problem, one of the microfilters was U/S. So I solved that problem only to find that the connection still wouldn't work.

I unplugged all the leads, set the connection from Ethernet and USB and tried again. The same thing happened. BT's helpline were a great help - they were closed until tomorrow. Now I'm left with having to redo everything next Friday.

What happened to easy plug and play hardware and software?
