Remember yesterday's post? Well it looks like my boss wasn't appreciative of my work. I had an e-mail this morning telling me off for not turning up until 11:00. I pointed out that I had already been to my customer's premises before travelling to the office to help out.
Then he complained that I wasn't there when he turned up at 16:30. I pointed out that there was nothing for me to do so I exercised my privilege to leave early and go home. This has been a right I've had since starting at the office 3.5 years ago. Due to the fact I work late and spend almost 4 days away from home I was always allowed latitude to leave early on a Thursday, if there was no work to do.
Then I had a call from one of my colleagues who wanted to reassure me that what he'd written about her in his e-mail was a gross exageration of what she had said. She pointed out that I'd only gone because there was nothing left for me to do.
I think the time is fast approaching where I decide to leave. This guy is very much like the boss in the Dilbert books. I don't believe in violence in the workplace but I'd gladly make an exception in his case....
