An Explanation

Steve it is a requirement for members, and ex-members, of most special forces not to be identified in photographs. As people who attended my wedding will know, I am the sole surviving member of the Lichtenstein Anti Terrorist Squad, I shot the others, and therefore still feel the need to remain anonymous when a camera is around. You never know who is out there hunting you down - just read any Robert Ludlum, or similar, "novel".

This brings me onto a great story in today's Times, that's the London Times for our overseas readers.

It appears that Rochdale Development Agency have been promoting the town using posters of street cafe scenes, bustling shopping centres and historic buildings. The posters contain words such as Safe, Vibrant and Spaces in big lower case letters. There is one slight problem with this campaign - the pictures are actually on Manchester city centre, which is 15 miles away.

It appears that these pictures are supposed to reflect the aspirations of Rochdales citizens and not the true nature of Rochdale. So I take it that Rochdale residents all aspire to live in Manchester then....

The development agency said: "They have been up for a year and until now nobody has complained. Anyone with half a brain would understand they illustrate people's aspirations."

So there you are. Misrepresentation is ok if you are a development agency showing people's aspirations by using photos of a neighbouring city - or trying to pass yourself off as a member of the Lichtenstein Anti Terrorist Squad.

And just to help some searchers out there:

1. Girls breasts do not develop at a given age. It will begin at the onset of puberty which varies from age to age. In some cases it happens it also later with the aid of a "sugar daddy" and a plastic surgeon.

2. Homelessness does not have a fixed starting point. It can occur for a variety of reasons from unemployment to eviction to illness.
