One of the biggest changes between my old and new jobs is the fact that I no longer have as much opportunity to surf at work. This is primarily down to the fact that my computer has yet to be set up with access to the internet. In fact, I can't even log on at present.
Things are going well though. I have the opportunity to help build the branch's business and the freedom to visit customers whenever I have the opportunity. This is something that got rarer and rarer in my old job. My last boss wanted me to generate additional business but never to leave the office.
It turns out that the chapel friend who got me the job is more like me than my wife jokingly thought. Today we discovered that a job I had applied for 8 years ago was actually given to him. At the time I was glad that I didn't get it as the firm closed a few months later, brought down by their biggest customer cancelling their contracts overnight. While they laid off 4,000 jobs their customer managed to screw their own business up, but not so greatly. They have now recovered, you may know them by their food and clothing adverts; especially the food ones that aren't food but *** food.
