Today I had my haircut. Not a big thing I know but it was where that was special.

I work near an industrial estate on the outskirts of a small Welsh town. We don't have enough time to get into the town and back at lunchtime and, as there are so many people working on the estate, we have our own banks (all 4 major ones), cafe and hairdressers/barbers.

The one I went to is a mobile barbers. It is in the back of a vehicle similar to a horse transporter. I've never seen a mobile baber shop before so I had to try it out.

Inside it is just like a normal barbers shop, with 2 chairs and a TV. The very nice young lady started with the "What did you do this weekend?" banter and began to cut my hair with the clippers. "This is long isn't it!" she said, while forcibly pushing the clippers across my head. If she'd applied any more pressure she'd have removed my scalp and taken the top layer off my brain.

As she worked she chattered away and then declared that I was very quiet. I didn't realise that conversation was mandatory, I'm not a great lover of small inane chatter.

I must say that I'm very pleased with her work though. I now feel more like my usual self.
