We had a delightful we 4 yr old in the shop today. He charged excitedly round the shop dropping his sweets everywhere, backtracking over them and grinding them into the carpet. It is amazing how a disgusting carpet can completely change the atmosphere of the shop. Still, he did not break anything, as did a similar small being last week demolishing the entire window display of figurines.
Neither mum seemed one bit peturbed, they smiled and giggled as if this was perfectly normal behaviour to leave a trail of carnage in their wake...
Yet I must also give high praise to the many parents who arrive in the shop, their youngsters clearly knowing and understanding boundaries.
Oh well, ce la vie.
