Let me explain

I think I should tell you a bit about our garden, just so that you can understand our problems and joys. Firstly it faces southeast, which is a Good Thing - lots of weak northern sunshine. Unfortunately there are also several large trees including conifers, some weedy grass and lots and lots of junk (old bedframes, a large sheet of blue plastic, old greenhouse glass, and even a paddling pool complete with frog!). Oh, and we have three sheds. One looks like a nuclear bunker and doesn't belong to us, even though it appears to be in our garden. The second is on the patio falling down and full of junk, but the third is useful. One out of three isn't bad!

The other thing is the shape/size. It is only 13 feet wide, but at least 70 feet long. Very long and thin! We have planned to clean up the patio (which is at the far end), take down the conifers and possibly some of the other trees, and convert the lawn into veg beds and borders. The problem is to make it look less long and thin. So far C has taken down two of the conifers, narrowly missing the fence in the process. Lots of logs for the fire too. It has opened out the garden though, letting in more light. I've cleared a bit of patio and a bit of border, which the local cats are now using as their toilet. Lovely - pooper scooper required!

Well, that's just the beginning, more to follow...

And I ordered some boots from Hawkshead 2 1/2 months ago, they've just arrived. Exciting!
