Another day, another bed...

I had a great couple of days in the garden, thanks to that lovely weather over the weekend. On Friday I went out intending to do just an hour, and ended up digging the next raised bed, planting our black elder (like a normal elder but with dark purple leaves and slightly pinky flowers - to be used for elderflower cordial and elderberry wine!), weeding the fruit cuttings which are starting to grow, and doing a few other jobs. So nice now that term has ended!

We also had visitors this weekend and it was lovely to see them, I just wish the garden looked a bit better. It looks rather half-finished at the moment.

And then on Saturday I worked out exactly what was going where in the beds, down to the final spacings (that's where all that maths you learn at school finally comes in handy, after ** years...) and then I went out and Sowed Some Veg. I sowed a row of beetroot (we're not that keen on it) and four rows of carrots in the first raised bed. After all that planning and digging and scheming it looks no different to before, but it should do in two or three weeks time... watch this space as they say.
