I have just finished my second sleeve - wahey! now just the back and front to go... (and I'm already dreaming of what colours to do the next one).
have been looking despairingly at the garden, its a mess. especially with the winds lately, there are broken bits and pieces scattered everywhere, some of the felt has come off the shed roof, and the grass and weeds are still growing. since they mended the fence at the back and had to take out two trees to do it the patio is getting much more light and has disappeared under a jungle of weeds. think weedkiller might be the only option for that. it's just so difficult to find time to do stuff (garden or house), one of us is looking after Bean and the other is asleep.
so the plan of action is to decide on the least time consuming, easiest crops to grow and take it from there. preferably ones we can plant direct. was very impressed by the peas last year, and beans would have been good too if they hadn't been killed by the frost. i'm hoping that when Bean can walk (shouldn't be long now) she can toddle round after me in the garden - probably a recipe for disaster but at the moment i can't even get out there with her. a bit of decent (ie not wet) weather would help too, its in its usual winter quagmire state at the moment.
