those mad march days

can't believe it's march already. where does the time go?

but we do have something to celebrate: yesterday, bean took her first steps!! admittedly i can't get her to repeat the action (believe me i am trying) but she definitely, deliberately, stepped over to the chair from the cot rather than cruise round. my baby's growing up!

to add to the excitement i have finished the back of my jumper and have started on the front. a friend and i visited our local wool shop on Monday (local being a relative term meaning the nearest one to us but not that local really, hence it was a special occasion to have time to visit it, neither of us having any appointments that morning which is a Very Rare Thing) and we had some fun finding wool for a wrap for her and then fitting two pushchairs in the coffee shop across the road (we left one outside in the end). Another friend was proudly showing off the gloves she had made for her daughter this morning, despite the fact that she ran out of wool and one was therefore smaller than the other. they did look good though and were even strung through the sleeves of her coat like all good gloves should be.

I'm going to have to change the name of this blog soon if we don't get out in the garden. i did buy bean an all-in-one waterproof suit thing last week and some wellies - how cute! (definitely growing up) so we are all set, now just need to find some time. i have bought some onion sets, a rhubarb plant and some seed potatoes, and i guess they all need to go in sometime soon, now it's march an' all. still blinking cold up here though. oh, and we are having a sunflower growing competition at church, so last sunday we got everyone to plant their sunflowers. rather chaotic but fun, and hopefully we might get a sunflower over 6' this year.
