a picture paints a thousand words

Sometimes I wish I could draw, because as they say a picture paints a thousands words. I will therefor try in less (lots less) than a thousand words to describe the picture of how I feel.
I’m standing and can see the beginning of the path, it leads to somewhere I can’t see but can “feel” is beautiful, maybe it will be a sunlit meadow with wild flowers, maybe it will be by a waterfall, all I know is that it is a place of beauty and peace. Before I can get to that place that is tantalisingly out of view I must walk the path. The path which from where I am standing is bright but disappears into the unknown, in to a dip where I can’t see what is to come, it “feels” like it is going to be full of trees that are so damp that they block most of the light, on the forest floor it will be cold and damp, there will be fallen leaves sometimes they cover danger. There are pools of damp stagnant water. But sometimes there are wondrous things to behold in this forest, sometimes there are things that are truly beautiful, there are flowers which shouldn’t be able to grow in the damp and doom but do, that provide hope. Sometimes there are tantalising glimpses that up ahead is the place of beauty and peace, which I know will help me keep going. When I have made it through this forest I will reach somewhere which isn’t the place of beauty and peace, but is a place to rest, to reflect on the experience of travelling through the forest, the wonders that I have experienced in that place which should in theory be dark and damp, but was full of hidden wonders, which helped me to understand a little about the place of beauty and peace that I am travelling towards. However once I am in the place of rest I will be in a place with the forest behind me, but with another unknown in front of me on the way to that place of beauty and peace.
