“Sometimes it’s just more important to love, Than to always have it right”, this is a line from a Martyn Joseph song. This set me thinking, about how by showing love it becomes less important to get it right. People are more prepared to forgive us, if they know we are genuinely motivated by love. That doesn’t give us an excuse to not try and get it right, but our motivation is more important than having the right answers. Showing people that you care, by being there for them, by loving them no matter what, gives us the leeway to say the wrong things sometimes. It also gives us the ability to repair the relationship when we say or do the wrong thing. The biggest regrets are always when we let people drift through pain and hurt by themselves instead of standing with them, in a very human way, and admitting that we don’t know what to do and say to make it better, but we will do the only thing we can and let them know they are not alone.
