Well we made it in to the New Year, and I’m waiting to see what this year brings. I’ve set a mixture of goals, and am thinking about how to achieve them. Having never set goals before it’s not something I have had any practice at. They cover a range of things, but one of the things that I plan to do, is at least start to revise my 2009 NaNoWriMo novel. I like the general idea of the plot, and had fun writing it and now I want it to be readable for others. I had started editing, and had done some tinkering with it, but I think it needs more done to it than that. I need to ensure my characters are consistent, did I change the name of someone’s best friend half-way through? I need to attempt to learn about grammar and punctuation. But most scary of all I need to do LOTS of historical research. I feel that I am going to regret over and over again setting each chapter in a different period of history, with people who really lived playing an important role, which means yet more research. I have no idea where to start, so at the moment am putting my head in the sand. I could just walk away, after all it is just for fun, but fun doesn’t mean it won’t be hard work. I need to keep in sight why I am doing it, and put up with the difficulties, and learn from them. If anyone sees some motivation floating around could they send it this way please?
