A while a go I wrote this about seeing the big picture. For various reasons I have been thinking about this again. As well as seeing the long picture, I’ve been reflecting on the community aspects of the old testament n particular. To what extend should we be encouraged when good things happen to others? As we develop relationships with others we begin to share in their hopes and fears. We learn to laugh and cry with them. We experience their joys and disappointments. But it can become a step further their joys and disappointments become ours. Is this a good thing? I think it can be, it can help us to achieve balance. If we are truly with people through all the ups and downs, it gives us glimpses of joy when life is tough, and helps us to keep things in perspective when life is good, and encourages us to share the blessings that we have.
Well that wasn’t where I thought this blog was going, was going to talk about turkeys and Christmas, oh well another day!!
