A few weeks ago I wrote this post. I am thinking this through, and have started to think through what this means. I have over my life built a wall, in which are bricks that have been added over a life time in the church. All these bricks have been resting on the brick labelled “fear.” I have now thrown that brick into the sea, gradually all the bricks that have been leaning on it are collapsing. At the moment this is a slightly disturbing process. I am looking at falling bricks, going I wonder which ones will survive, which ones will break, and what new bricks will be built in.
And in other news I had an “official” birthday today featuring chocolate cake with duck candles.
