While you won’t read this till several days after Easter, it is in fact Good Friday when I’m writing this. The time lapse is due to only being able to post when I get near the internet proper, which I don’t have at home at the moment. I can read the wib on my phone, but no posting.
At the moment I am struggling to connect with God more so than at some other times. Easter seems to have crept up on me as life seems to never stop attacking. The last few days I have been thinking about models of atonement. While I am happy to say that there are lots of different things that are going on at the cross, I am also happy to say that some are more important to me. I had identified as the model that is most important to me is the one that says, I see what lengths God would go to for me, I must respond to such love. This morning I was listening to the radio when Meatloaf came on, and the first couple of lines of the song really struck me. “I would do anything for love, I would run right in to hell and back.” This really stuck me as to the length that God went to for me, Jesus was prepared to endure anything and everything because of his love for me. I then read Ian’s blog which re-enforced to me, what God accomplished, that Jesus went to hell and beat its power for me. There can be no greater love, than the love God has for me.
