Time to try this dictation software again. Not sure whether on my previous blog i told you, but the open University have nicely lent me some computer software that allows me to dictate to the computer, and it becomes a document. But apparently the more I use it the more accurate, it becomes, so practising while writing blogs seemed a good idea.
I've been thinking recently about how people can get the wrong idea from the things you say. This is especially true with things like face book. While this is a great way to keep up with lots of people. Sometimes people misinterpret what you mean by your status, because a couple lines doesn't say enough. Also, I forget that people are not in the particular world, I was in that moment when i wrote my status. This was reinforced to me between Christmas and New Year, when several people were concerned by my face book status to the extent that one of my friends actually phoned to check I was okay and not about to do something stupid. I had set as my facebook status, for whom the Bell tolls. When I'd been setting it, I had been referring to the fact that Bell had just caught out one of the South African Cricket players in the second test, and had also reached a century when batting. Unfortunately nobody else was thinking about cricket. This little incident has warned me to think though before adding a status. Firstly, we don't know what people are thinking when they write their status. Secondly, I maybe need to tell other people which particular world i'm in at the time I write it. I did remember this, when commenting on the cricket in a recent status.
