Before going on with this blog I would like to point out that I’m ill hence why I am sat on the sofa wrapped up in a blanket watching Hollyoaks. (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.) On Hollyoaks they were planning a nativity play, and wanted to make it more exciting, to add bloodshed and intrigue. Have they actually read the story? I mean Joseph needs an angel to persuade him that he should still marry Mary. Herod kills all the baby’s under 2, and Mary and Joseph have to leg it with Jesus to stop him getting killed. I mean how much more bloodshed and intrigue do they want. Are we so often trying to make the story all cute and lovely for children, and forget to read it, and think about what it really says.
