This is annoying.

In about nine hours or so I shall be heading back to the Parental Homestead for the Christmas period. That in itself is not a bad thing, and I am looking forward to catching up with my family and lots of friends. What's annoying is, I have rather a lot I want to do at home, and if only I wasn't going home until, say, Sunday, I could get a fair bit of it done.

Instead, if past years are anything to go by, I shall be 100 miles from here, unable to do any of those things, with very little to do apart from sitting around feeling like I'm wasting time. And that's the problem - knowing there is lots to do in one place and comparatively little to do in another, but not being able to really do anything about it.

Which is why, gentle reader, I am defnitely learning to drive in 2008. Because were it not for my reliance on public transport and other people, none of this would be an issue.

Right, enough grumbling. Time to get a decent-ish night's sleep, so I might have time to clear up a bit and pack in time to leave the house by about - ulp - 8.45...
