A few random thoughts

Went to the cinema today to see 'The Queen' (it's very good). Didn't realise the showing I went to was the weekly senior citizens' special type job until I got there, to find that around 98% of the audience were over 60. But in a way, I rather liked that. And it just made me think, "I hope one day I'm old, and I'll still be doing things like going to the cinema". Not a huge revelation, I know, but nice all the same.

Afterwards, I walked home via the park by the cinema. I'd never known the park so quiet - then again, most times I've been there before have been weekends in the summer. The trees looked beautiful, with autumnal leaves piled up beneath them, and the fact that there was hardly anyone else there, just made it so tranquil and peaceful. My parents are coming for a visit on Thursday - if the weather's OK, I might suggest going up there again.

And finally, just had a look at my "recent referers" list and discovered someone came to my blog via a link on someone else's blog, but I don't know who the someone else who owns that blog actually is. I shall have to investigate. Not now, obviously, it's time I went to bed, but if you own the mystery blog in question, or you came here via another non-wiblog blog, I hope you enjoyed it and I didn't scare you away with my unwieldy singleness essay.

Oh, and finally finally, I leave you with some words of wisdom that my sister gave me last night, when I was talking to her about how blogging all that stuff had got it off my chest: "A blog doesn't interrupt or try to fob you off with a platitude." Sis, you're not wrong.
