The scene: One of my housemates and I watching TV. A commercial comes on for one of those plug-in fragrances that changes every so often for reasons no one's entirely sure of. One of the fragrances mentioned is "warm fireside glow".
Housemate: "What a stupid advert! I mean, what does warm fireside glow smell like?"
Me: "Dunno. Probably singed arm hair or something, from when you sit too near the fire."
Housemate: "Burned flesh? How do they get the smell then? Do they just have to set fire to someone?"
Me: "Guess so."
Housemate: "Well, that must be a great thing for your house to smell of..."
We have a lot of these conversations...
