Well, having seen Farli and Tractorgirl have a crack at this already, I thought I'd try it too...
1. Flip to page 18, paragraph 4 in the book closest to you right now, what does it say?
The nearest book to me is the Yellow Pages phone directory, and page 18 doesn't really have any paragraphs as such, just details of how to order further copies and a map of Britain marking each seperate regional edition you could order if you so wished.
2. If you stretch out your left arm - as far as possible, what are you touching?
Air. But if I then lower my arm a bit, I'm touching the throw (sp?) over the sofa.
3. What's the last program you watched on tv?
Just saw most of Match Of The Day. Some good goals, but disappointingly Manchester United won.
4. Without looking, guess what time it is.
Probably about 12.40am. (quick glance, 12.42 - not bad, eh?)
5. Except the computer, what can you hear right now?
Nothing. All my housemates are either out or asleep, and the neighbours seem to have stopped arguing for now, so all is tranquility.
6. When was the last time you were outside and what did you do?
I've been out this evening, got back about 11.15. Was at a prayer/worship type thing at church, which was really good.
7. What are you wearing?
A white longsleeved top, over which I'm wearing a black t-shirt with a picture of a drum kit on it. Plus, jeans, pants (in the English sense - I'm not wearing two pairs of trousers), socks, trainers, contact lenses.
8. Did you dream last night? If you did, what about?
If I did, I don't remember it.
9. When was the last time you laughed?
About half an hour ago when another wiblogger phoned me and I got to hear her friend singing drunkenly in the background. Several times.
10. What's on the walls, in the room you're in right now?
Stone-ish colour wallpaper at the top, then a dado (sp?) rail, then white paint underneath. The only other thing is a large mirror in a blue wooden frame.
11. Have you seen anything strange lately?
Not since I last looked in the aforementioned mirror.
12. What do you think about this meme?
I'm wondering where its name comes from. Is it because you talk so much about yourself on it that it's just all "me, me, me, me, me"?
13. What's the last film you saw?
Most of Back To The Future last week, but the DVD player decided to pack up all together just as Marty started playing Johhny B Goode!!! How infuriating! I think the last film I saw for the first time, as it were, was The Queen.
14. If you became a multimillionaire, what would you do with the money?
Buy a house - nothing flash, just somewhere to live - for me, offer to help out my family and friends with whatever they needed, and do some charitable stuff with the rest. (Oh, who am I kidding, I'd buy an entire branch of HMV...)
15. Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know.
When I was little, a children's author came to our school for the day to talk about his book and sign copies. When it got to my turn, he asked me my name, and then said, "Is that Steven with a V or with a PH?" Not knowing there was more than one way of spelling Steven, I just assumed he was being stupid, so I replied, "No, it's with an S."
16. If you could change ONE THING in this world, without regarding politics or bad guilt - what would it be?
For teleporting people a la Star Trek to actually be a reality. No more long journeys! No more turning up late anywhere! No more being crammed on a train overhearing other people's dull/offensive/dull-ly offensive/offensively dull conversations!
17. Do you like dancing?
Yes. Whether I'm any good at it or not, is another matter.
18. George Bush?
Aah, well now that you've said that, I'll need to go back and change the answer to number 9...
19. What do you want your children's names to be, girl/boy?
I think calling them "Girl" and "Boy" would strip them of some of their personality. Especially if Girl was actually a boy, or vice versa. So, when I know who the mother of these children will be, I'll discuss it with her. And what makes you so sure I want children, eh? (I think I do, but sometimes I change my mind)
20. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Maybe, but I think I'd rather stay in Britain, just 'cause I know it, I generally like it, and I don't have to learn another language in order to get anywhere.
21. What do you want God to tell you, when you come to heaven?
"I know you tried, and you sometimes got it wrong, and you sometimes could have tried harder, but I like the fact that you tried anyway."
22. Who should do this meme?
Mr T. No particular reason why, he was just the first person that popped into my head.
