Round at some friends' house tonight, I had to try hard not to laugh at the conversation going on between parents and middle son about the new games console he wants to buy with his savings. It's the new Nintendo Wii (pronounced "wee"), and the conversation went a bit like this:
Middle Son: "Why can't I have a Wii?"
Mum: "You don't need a Wii."
Middle Son: "But I really want a Wii!!"
Dad: "It's too much money. You really can't afford a Wii."
Eldest Son: (entering) "What's going on?"
Mum: "Your brother thinks he needs a Wii, and we're just telling him he doesn't."
How I ever kept a straight face through that, I'll never know... Oh yeah, that's right, I didn't.
