Coffee and beer

Last night I went for a coffee with two of my former housemates. Actually, that's not true. I went for a hot chocolate. But it was at St**b**ks, so to not refer to it as "going for a coffee" just seems incorrect, regardless of whether any coffee was drunk or not. I don't even like coffee, but I've now reached the stage where it's easier to say "go for a coffee" than "meet at St**b**ks" (other coffee chains and - shock! - independent non-multinational coffee shops are also available, it's just that everyone I know seems to make a beeline for you-know-where).

Anyway, onto something I do like - Estonian beer. I tried some in the summer, when my then-housemate brought some back from a visit home. Now, she's been back for a couple of days for her graduation, and when she popped round to collect her things from the house yesterday, she left six cans of the stuff in the kitchen. Apparently, there are two main brewers in Estonia, and deciding which one's beer you drink seems to be a political decision on a par with deciding which newspaper you read in Britain. To be honest, I tried both and couldn't tell much difference. So my new selection of beer is largely of the Le Coq brand, and I'm happy enough with not knowing the political implications of that decision. As long as there's beer, that's fine with me.
