...or, I Had No Idea What To Call This Entry, So I Went For Something A Bit Daft, As Usual.

OK, I was planning to do one of those "here's what I hope/want to achieve this year" things, and said as much a while back I think. Then I changed my mind. But now I've changed it back again. Oh dear. Anyway, I'm going to do it now, before I change my mind again. So here goes...

I've been trying to think of notable events in my life in the last year, and aside from the ones in the last few months which have already been heavily blogged about, I can't think of anything much. Maybe I have a terrible memory. Or maybe I've had an unexceptional year. Either way, I have a feeling 2007 is going to be more exciting. Here are a few of the things I'm planning to do this year:

1. Relocate. I've had an amazing three-and-a-bit years here, but it's felt for a while like God's been bringing it to a natural conclusion. And I wasn't sure how He planned to do that, and what He was going to do with me next, but now things are starting to come into focus here, and I reckon the next six months or so will be extremely exciting, although probably also quite challenging. There's the whole find-a-new-home, find-a-new-job and all that stuff to come, but I'm looking forward to it so much. No doubt I'll keep you up to speed as things progress.

2. Learn to drive. I should have done this years ago, yet somehow I never have. I always felt I needed three things in order to take lessons - time, money, and motivation. I always seemed to have two of them, then as soon as I got the third I'd lose one of the other two. I've managed OK up until now, but I reckon it's about time I sorted this one out. Now, if only I knew somebody (like, I don't know, a brother-in-law or someone) who could give me driving lessons... :D Actually, on second thoughts, that would probably involve learning to drive in London, and I'm not sure I really fancy that idea. Still, I'm planning to go for it and see what happens. Again, I'll keep you posted.

3. Spend more time with my family. I tried to purposefully spend less time with them last year, and it made me realise how much I appreciate them and enjoy being around them, even if they infuriate me sometimes (of course they do - that's what families are there for). Hopefully the planned relocation should put me closer to them all, and make this a lot easier (and cheaper).

4. Be a bit healthier. I have tried in the past, to little avail. If vegetables tasted like chocolate, then I'd be fine... No, wait a second, chocolate flavoured vegetables just sound wrong. OK, if chocolate was as healthy as vegetables, then I'd be fine. But I know that, if I'm going to get a good balance, I need to eat less crap and accept that a packet of Starburst does not qualify as five portions of fruit and veg (blackcurrant, strawberry, orange, lemon and lime - I make that five fruits, but apparently there are some nutritional so-called experts who claim otherwise...). I also know I need to make more effort to exercise - sitting on my arse in front of the computer/TV may be enjoyable, but like most good things it's all too easy to have too much of it. So I hope to find a better balance, eat more proper meals and get more exercise in 2007, preferably something that can fit into my hectic lifestyle without too much trouble.

5. Meet more of you lovely Wiblog folk. I've met a handful of you already, and none of you have scared me away, despite your best efforts. I've really appreciated your support, and I hope that this year I'll get to put more faces to names. And if you catch me just after pay day, I might even buy a round...

Well, I'm sure there are other things I've missed, but that'll do for starters. Of course, my ultimate aim for the year is to grow closer to God and follow His will for my life, but I thought that was a bit obvious and cheesy. So those were a few of the other things I want to do this year. Oh, and although I still want to tell you about all of that, I may try to spend more of my blogging time just letting out some of the weird random thoughts in my head, which is what I originally thought I would do mostly on this blog, but has turned out (so far at least) to be an occasional occurence. So, brace yourselves, gentles and ladymen, please ensure your seatbelts are fastened securely, keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and SCREAM IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER!!!!

(or something...)
