...and two of them seem to be coming together at the moment - one long-term, the other much more short-term.
I'll start with the short-term one. This Saturday is the big wedding, and with all my usual organisational skills I figured this evening I should start arranging how I'm going to get there, how I'm going to get back, and where I'd stay overnight if I needed to. After a couple of quick calls, I reckon I should be fine for lifts; however, everyone I spoke to was planning to stay over on both Friday and Saturday night, so the staying bit was definitely going to need to be resolved. Well, the internet is my friend; initially I was looking at the nearby Travelodges, as I knew a few people had already booked rooms with them and they're rumoured to be quite reasonably priced. However, after a bit more digging I discovered another hotel which appeared to be very central to the town, had a single room available for both nights and - get this - was £15 per night cheaper than the cheapest Travelodge room! Well, I needed to check something, so I gave them a ring and they offered to take the booking right there and then - and throw in breakfast at a reduced rate! Result!! So now, I just need to squeeze myself into someone's car, but that looks like being the easy bit. And given that the difficult bit turned out to be a piece of cake, I shall go to bed a happy bunny tonight.
And the longer term stuff? Well, I promise I'll come onto that soon. No, really, I will. But all I'll say for now is, I think it's going to be good. So, very happy bunny then. :D
