It's amazing the difference a few days away can make. And some perspective. And advice. And encouragement. And rest. And Bakewell tart.
Things are looking better than they were when last I posted, but that's not to say everything's hunky dory. The next few days could be tough, and as a result the next few months could be tough too. But it doesn't feel like the end of the world now.
It's odd, I was thinking the other day how the last year has been the most difficult of my life, and yet the one where I've felt most loved and supported and as a result it's also been, in a funny kind of way, the happiest of my life. As someone once told me, we don't know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future...
Anyway, in other news, just as I was leaving the house on Saturday to head to my parents', a fella turned up to wake the rest of the house with a whopping great drill. Our landlord had arranged for us to have cavity wall insulation fitted, and although it went OK, for some reason a load of the foam he pumped in has squeezed through into the cupboard in the bathroom where we keep the toilet rolls and towels and stuff. So now the cupboard looks like a mattress has exploded in it or something. And why not?
