OK, so here's the deal: I was looking at Dave's blog yesterday, and laughing rather a lot at the cartoons he'd created as part of his Cartoon Challenge Night. And it made me think, "I'd love to do something a bit like that". But I'm rubbish at cartoons, so it would have to be something similar but different.
Then today, it hit me. Why don't I just write some random blog posts based on people's suggestions, in much the same way Dave did his cartoons? And then it hit me again - I could just cheat a bit and do the same topics Dave was set. That gave me all day to think about what I could write, which is probably cheating further, but I'm willing to overlook that.
So now, here's the plan: Taking the five topics Dave was set (eating your five daily portions of fruit and veg; weighing up whether to go to church or watch football; becoming a famous but humble Christian blogger; Gordon Brown [not] setting a date for the election; and bouncy castles in churches), I shall attempt to come up with something witty and insightful to say on each topic. It'll kind of be like that "do a routine on the randomly chosen topic" round on Mock The Week, only maybe not quite as funny. But I fancy a challenge, so I'll give it a go.
My aim is to do one tonight, two tomorrow, and two on Sunday. It might not work out quite like that, but we shall see. You ready? Right, here goes...
