Everyone knows it's important to have five portions of fruit and veg a day. It seems like a really easy thing to do, but in reality a lot of us fail to achieve it. So how do we sort it out?

Well, I think the problem for a lot of people is that, when you suggest fruit and veg, they think of dull stuff like salad - healthy but unappetising. However, after a bit of thought, I think I may have the answer. Presenting - The Steve Fruit And Veg Based Diet:

Breakfast - full English fry-up. Tomatoes and mushrooms are the key here, although in the interests of making it easier to reach the five a day target, I propose that baked beans and hash browns should also be allowed to qualify as vegetables.

Lunch - Hawaiian pizza. Pineapple should do the trick there, plus you could count the tomatoes that have gone into the pizza base. For dessert, have a blueberry muffin.

Dinner - fish and chips are a great traditional favourite, and of course are another form of potatoes, which we will now count as a portion. However, the real secret here is to make sure you order mushy peas too - there you go, that's another portion sorted. And for dessert, why not go for a chocolate fondue? There are so many varieties of fruit you could dip in the melted chocolate, and remember - each one counts!

So there you have it. With a little imagination and effort, you can easily achieve your full quota of fruit and veg. Follow my dieting tips, and I guarantee you'll see a change in your health within days... And look out for my new book, 'Steve's School Dinners', available at all bad bookshops now!
