25 years ago today, I passed my driving test. This morning, I received a letter from the DSA telling me that my application to register as a Trainee Driving Instructor has been accepted and that I am now free to apply for the Part 1 examination.
The first thing I did after reading it was to log on to the DSA website to apply online, but for some reason I couldn't - don't know if it's my puter or the website thats at fault, but the pop up window refused to pop up, so I'll just have to wait until Monday and apply by phone.
If my exams turn out to be successful, it would seem I'll be getting out of my current job at just the right time. This week, the company announced that it is centralising all the admin functions to an office in Wales. This means that all the branch offices are closing down. As a technician my job is safe (so they tell me) but all the admin staff are being made redundant at the end of December. Oh great! Just what you need less than a month before Christmas. I've a feeling that there won't be too much of a party atmosphere at our Christmas do next week.
