Ministry and Calling

This evening I had a meeting with the Vicar to discuss my ministry as a Reader with a view to moving forward and renewing my licence there.

The last few months have been interesting. Following the problems at the last place, we set out to look for another church and we found this one, partly through a Mystery Worshipper report on Ship of Fools and, as it fairly close to home decided to give it a try. After (or possibly even during) the first service we attended, I felt very strongly that I had been led there. Even so, I kept a low profile to get my own mind straight and to continue praying for guidance.

This evening's meeting was very constructive and she is very keen to get me on board. Due to legalities and various bureaucratic stuff it won't be this side of Easter, which suits me due to the ADI exams etc, but she has mentioned the possibility of me leading Evensong one Sunday before then while she's away. We spoke about the possibility of me helping with the youth group, leading study groups, preaching - in fact all the things that Readers are supposed to do.

We closed in prayer and I had this overwhelming feeling that this is where God wants me to be.
