It's strange how one can feel close to somebody through the text based medium of an internet discussion board without ever meeting that person, or even knowing their real name. Cartmel Veteran on Ship of Fools is someone I've never met in person and, for that matter never really interacted with on the boards, but when I read this news I cried just as much as if it were for a close friend or relative. The net really does bring people closer together and people who post really are much much more than simply names on a screen.
Please join me and the hundreds of other shipmates in praying for the soul of Lanie, and for CV and the newly born twins.
