So went the immortal words of Jim Hacker from Yes Minister. Yes, 4 years ago today, Tina & I got married. To celebrate, I went on a training course today. Well, no actually. I did go on a training course, which was brilliant (it damn well should have been for the money I spent on it) and I'll post more on that another time, but the celebration was this evening.

We decided to try out a restaurant we'd not been to before, Numidie Bistro in Crystal Palace. I'd heard a lot about it, all of it good, so thought it would be worth a try and we weren't disappointed. Anyone who knows that area will be aware that you need to be very careful when choosing restaurants. Due to the rise in trendy bars and restaurants along that street, you very often end up paying through the nose for a mediocre meal and small portions. This place was different though. Incredibly good value, superb food and decent sized portions which meant I needed a crane to get me out of my seat.

Tina started with a salad while I went for the Squid stuffed with Crab Meat. For the main course, Tina had Spiced Lamb Sausages and I had Fillet of Beef with Truffle Butter. For dessert, we both went for the Creme Brulee, which was very boozy! All of this was washed down with a bottle of House Red and finished off with coffee and a glass of Calvados.

A fantastic evening out and if anyone is looking for a nice venue with fantastic food in SE19, I'd recommend it.
