When I started working on my "pink licence" back in March, I took out a 6 month lease on a used car. Well, it wasn't that used. It was only a couple of months old and only had just over 2000 miles on the clock. Well, the 6 months is nearly up now. (Gosh, how time flies!) About two weeks ago, I contacted the leasing company to enquire about getting a new car. Not that there's anything wrong with my existing one, it's just that I fancy getting the new shape Corsa. Everyone else at the school is getting one, so why shouldn't I?
Well, it turns out that there is a long waiting list for the new Corsa. Partly because it's a popular car so there's quite a long wait anyway, but also because for Driving School use, an extra speedo has to be fitted as the regular speedo can't be seen from the passenger seat, so I was told that I may have to wait until November before a new car can be delivered. OK, I can live with that.
Anyway, earlier this week they phoned me back to say that somebody who had ordered the exact same model that I'm after (5 door Club CDTI) had cancelled his order. They are expecting delivery next week sometime. Once they've got it, all they need to do is fit the dual controls and then it's ready to be delivered to me. Hopefully, I should have it withing the next week or two. I'm a little disappointed, as I'd been hoping to be the first one at the school with a 57 plate, but never mind. This will be my first ever brand new car!
