Relieved

Well I did it!

At the appointed time, the examiner came in to the room and called my name out. Seemed a bit silly really as I was the only one in the waiting room. However, he was a really nice guiy. He knew it was my first check test, so did everything possible to put me at my ease.

We went to the car, where my pupil had been left to wait for us. (Sounds a horrible thing to do, but that's what's required) Off we went.

It wasn't nearly as terrifying as the Part 3 qualifying exam. This time, I was in control. I had a good lesson plan, and a good route. This wasn't just for the test though - what I delivered was a tried and tested lesson that I frequently deliver to my pupils.

I was given a Grade 4, which I'm happy with. I was aware of a few shortcomings, but they weren't serious enough to do me any harm. In fact after the examiner had pointed out the areas that need improving, he congratulated me on how well I'd done considering the short amount of time I've been qualified and the fact that this was my first check test.

Tonight we went out for a curry to celebrate.

I've now made up my mind what I'm going to do next. It's still exciting and it's still scary, but I'm too knackered to write about it now.
