Goodness me, it's been ages since I last updated my blog. Sometime in early summer 2003 I think it was (the previous title was "Spike's Ale & Gin Palace). Back then I'd just got married, but that was about the only good thing going on. I'd just failed miserably to qualify as a Driving Instructor. I was in a temporary job giving employment training to adults with learning disabilities, but the place was about to close and I was staring unemployment in the face.
Well, lots of water has passed under the bridge since then. We moved house a couple of months ago. I now work in pest control, so I spend my days driving around South London and Surrey protecting the general public from all sorts of vicious beasts and creepy crawlies and, I surprised myself here, I find it really interesting - enjoyable even. Having said that, I've started training again to become a Driving Instructor. I took Part 1 of the exam just before Christmas (Theory and Hazard Perception) and passed with flying colours. All being well, I'll pass the next two stages which will qualify me as a DSA Approved Driving Instructor. Of course that means I'll have to change my blog title again, but I'll worry about that one later.
