After the sun has set
After the music has finished
After the hope has faded
I sit, I wait for you
I wait in the darkness
I wait in the silence
I wait in disbelief.
There were times in the darkness
when the light shone illuminating hope
and I could see her dance
though I could not hear the music
But now
Now I wait.
I know there is light, hope, music
Yet I cannot, will not see it.
The only light I see is that mocking glimmer
That prooves that light exists
and that hope is there, I am just to far off
And the only music I hear is the beating of my heart
and the unceasing drone of thoughts and fears
reminding me of my past, my sin, my darkness
Let the sun rise
Let the music play
Let the hope dance
Until then, I wait for you
I wait in the darkness
