Friday: Arrived at Buxton late to meet ruth, trains were cancelled..then we wandered around trying to find the youthhostel and were told it was closed by several people...lunch was chocolate spread sandwichs, well...choc spread smeared on bread with my swiss army knife....
then we found a foody type place that gave out free samples...so we brought lots of gingerbread people...and a very nice man sold us some cheese for £1 instead of £2.18...so thank you nice man!
Then we found the Youth Hostel
And made tea (grilled pizzas) and played cards with some random scouts from Mellor who go to my old school...told them we were also scouts (she's from Offerton and I'm soon to be a York Network!)
We then gambeled with Pringles til we were chucked out of the lounge to bed!
Saturday:
We started walking, it was hilly...Ruth mis read the map, and the National Trust Hall we were making for was private property...so we Garden Hopped and River walked to get to a vaguly path type thing...
Walked 10.5 Km...got 4km along the main road...our next hostel was 7 miles along the road....it was getting dark....
So we phoned a taxi...(did anyone know that taxis will pick you up at 6 figure grid references?) got back to Buxton, found they had beds for the night(Phew) played cards with more random scouts...had Pasta for tea.
Sunday:
It was rainy.
There were gales.
It was hell getting home.
Church was also hell...I hate it when God tells me to do something i don't want to do!
