An Extremeist who listens to Bob Geldof

This afternoon I started a one woman campaign against the gentlman who put up a notice in the window of a bookshop in York advertising a pair of Live Aid tickets for £500. After calmly and politely making my protest known to the lass who works in the book shop I phoned the guy who advertised the tickets and told him I wanted to make my objections known - he called me an extremist who listens to Bob Geldof. I grinned like a maniac, and went and asked the lass in the shop what would happen if I took the notice down - she said nothing, so I took great satisfaction in tearing the notice down and screwing it up before putting it in the bin.

I then went home.

Whilst at home I had to phone mum for a chat, and told her the story, and she suggested going to the local newspaper - which I am doing tommorrow, once I've taken a slightly better photo than the one I took today, and warned the manager of the shop about my plans. As the manager/people who work in the shop don't agree with the notice either, I figured it would be nice to let them know I was planning on causing a fuss before I did it.

I'm very pleased that I decided not to walk away after being called an extremist - the guy may have been right, maybe I am an extermist - but running away would have solved nothing. Next weekend I'm going to Edinburgh for the make poverty history rally, and I couldn't have gone to protest at that knowing I'd stood by whilst someone made profit out of a charitable venture.

And just for the record, it has NOTHING to do with Bob Geldof.
