While we are keeping the house 'super-tidy' in the hope of selling, we have had flowers on some of the windowsills. This was great, except that some lasted better than others, some got blackfly and infected the rest, and some bunches just didn't look right with others when incorporated into one vase. So this weekend I decided to try house plants instead. They cost about the same, so they only have to last 3 weeks to be financially viable(!) Anyone who knows me will realise this could be a problem. Even my cacti died...
Anyway, looking about we found a plant called a 'bromeliad'. Why does that name sound familiar? I asked myself. Told Husband who thought I was kidding, as it is the name given to a trilogy of stories written by this man which Husband has enjoyed for many years.
We now have 3 of them in our house. Freaky. Will let you know if/how long they survive...
