Here we are again. Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year - I know I did.

This is going to be a bit slapdash - when is it ever different? but with D hanging about and having left my notes on what I wanted to write about at home coz I wasn't expecting a pooter to be free, and then breaking the first computer I was using (fatal error, followed by 'resources running dangerously low'!) I am a tad flustered.

Anyway, a very good thing about Christmas was being able to bribe R to eat her dinner - 'I don't think Santa would be very happy if you didn't eat your dinner' and so on. Yes I know it's shameless, but it worked so I don't care. Also, we had some wonderful people visiting us, bought too much stuff, ate too much (7 pounds on!) and now Husband is on the Atkins diet, so he's cooking bacon and eggs at me every morning. Well, not this week as he's been away at a conference, but you get the idea.

So what (if anything) have I been up to this week?

- Enrolled R at primary school to start mid-August after much soul-searching as to whether she'll be ready as she could stay in nursery for another year. Decision is that if we do end up moving back to England, if she starts this year, then she won't be older than everyone then, even if she's the youngest in her class up here. And anyway, she'll love it!

- Booked summer holiday, well ok, I didn't someone else did it for me, but at least I know we're actually going to get away this year.

- D has a new word this week - 'dubbalup' - lollipop - in particular the 'acid pops' in a Harry Potter cauldron selection box thing Husband found.

- R played a 'kissing game' with friend (boy) and yesterday described herself as a 'girlfriend'. They grow up so fast!

- Calling the letting agent about the 3 new leaks in the roof of our flat.

- Looking for snow. We managed a thin (frozen solid) layer on the car and grass, as the traffic announcements were warning of drifts after 'heavy snowfall in South West Scotland'. Hmmm must be too far north-east or something(!)

That's about it, now all I have to do is stay sane and calm until Husband gets back later tonight, and see if I can get through the rest of the day without breaking anything...
