R thoroughly enjoyed her birthday weekend, complete with party, cake, chips and a remote controlled K9 (not hers).
On the flight south, I explained the safety card to her including the emergency slides and the oxygen masks (coz she's like me, and if she knows what to do in advance, there is less worry). On the way back...
In the airport, she was listening to my ipod to keep her quiet, but every time there was an announcement she'd ask me 'is that for us?' in a very loud voice. Having explained to her about taking 'one ear out' when you want to talk, she responded with 'but I like it with them both in!'
Once we got on the plane, there was a man next to us who, once the door had been shut, put his head in his hands. Oh dear, I thought. Ok, distract R. Needn't have worried, she was staring out of the window. then she turned to me and asked (with ipod still in ears)
'When do we get a go on the bouncy slide?'
'What button do we push to get the masks out?'
All in all a good flight, with turbulence added free. Glad I'm not flying anywhere today. Have you seen it out there?
