What have I been doing?

Well, let's see. Husband has had 2 job-type interviews, been ill and is now gadding off up and down the country doing his normal job, but is finally getting some feedback on his thesis.

R has had a day-trip to the beach with the school (and me, D stayed with Lemly), a party there, but has so far avoided chickenpox and her MMR booster.

D has been growing, eating and sleeping much the same as usual, and has been learning some new words. We are almost at the stage of coherent conversation - as long as you want to talk about buses 'BUS!', bananas 'NANAs', bears 'BEER' or sheep 'me-eh-eh'.

As for me, the house has now been valued twice, and is now gently slipping back to the state it was in before - oops. I have a couple of itchy patches on my legs, which I'm hoping are just insect bites and not the start of chickenpox (which I had when I was small, so I should be fine). R woke us up a couple of times in the night saying her tummy hurt, then Husband got up at 4.30 ish this morning to get to Wigan for a meeting at 9.30, and R was back up at 6.12 with tummy still hurting, and was actually sick at about 6.30.

Basically, the living room is a tip, I'm tired, R may be ill (no temperature), and we're supposed to be going to town for lunch. Aaarrrrggggghh.

On a lighter note, R had a party at school yesterday, to celebrate the last day of term (boo! no more school til September!). On the way home we were talking about what food she'd been eating. She had crisps, chocolate no sandwiches, oh and a cake, because...

'I like cakes. And the teachers like cakes. But you don't, do you Mummy?'

'Yes I do, I like cakes too.'

'No you don't'

'Yes I do, I just don't eat them because they make Mummy fat'

'No they don't, they just make you very tall!'

Well who am I to argue with her? Someone pass the cake tin...
