Whatever you do, don't open any cupboards or look under any beds. My home is surface tidy and clean! What an achievement - two small boys, one Smudge and one helpful cleaning lady all at work all morning to get it spick and span. I've even got the cobwebs down! Most of them, anyway. Though an awful lot of stuff (and ironing) is hidden away to be rediscovered once the visitors have left us in peace on Monday.
The organisation of this weekend is a bit nightmarish. I seem to have no clear idea of who is coming and who isn't, which is going to make it interesting when I ring the venues to confirm numbers. But I'm just going with the flow and taking as little responsibility as possible. Sophs arrived yesterday afternoon and has been hard at work on her essay - I reckon I could win prizes for nagging! And Cliona flew in from Cyprus in the middle of the night. We sat there in the kitchen drinking hot blackcurrant and eating toast at 1.30 a.m before crawling off to bed. She, of course, is now snuggled up in a sleeping bag like a caterpillar in a cocoon in my room, while I had the joys of being woken bright and early by my two sons who were delighted to discover me on the sofa bed in their room this morning. Still, at least I should be ready for the Tesco man when he arrives with a load of food for the weekend in a few minutes.
Hmm... I thought I said this place was clean and tidy. That was obviously BEFORE Sophs and Cliona arrived!
