After spelling, yes spelling, my phone number for her and eventually giving up, I have agreed to race over there with the money for her - reminiscent of Auntie Wainwright in Last of the Summer Wine - because she has people coming to see the piano at midday and doesn't know what to do if I've said I want it and haven't paid and collected it by then. Why on EARTH did I go on to say yes? I must be mad! I am usually patient with the elderly - it's not their fault they find things hard to grasp and I may well be as bad one day, if not already - but today I don't want to be bothered. But I DO want that piano!
